Recent Update - Sabinsa Corporation Receives GRAS Status For Curcumin C3 Complex?/sup>Download PDF

Sabinsa's Curcumin C3 Complex?/span> enjoys a special place among curcumin extracts. The name C3 Complex has reference to its three main chemical compounds Curcumin, Demethoxycurcumin and Bisdemethoxycurcumin collectively known as Curcuminoids.

Patented for its unique composition ratio and use, research shows C3 Complex offers consumers a wide range of health benefits. Due to its broad positive impact on many physiological activities in the body, C3 Complex is the first of its kind in a category of nutrients we described in 1995 as Bioprotectant. Perhaps better understood as a Super Anti-oxidant C3 Complex provides optimal protection and integrity to biological systems.

A significant amount of research, both pre-clinical and clinical, exists on curcumin extract compositions; but the majority of the materials used in these studies and reported in published literature are not commercially available to consumers. This is where C3 Complex is different.

Over the years, Sabinsa has developed a reputation for being a trusted and valued resource to academic and medical communities in providing C3 Complex for a variety of research initiatives. Often times the scope of this research falls outside the present regulatory framework for claims allowed on foods and dietary supplements. However, the fact that much of this work is being funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), with researchers and institutions requesting Sabinsa's C3 Complex for their studies, shows a high level of confidence in the consistency, quality and integrity of our material.

Below are a few examples of the types of research activities and institutions* where C3 Complex is or has been used:

  Research activities
Colorectal Cancer
Immunological Mechanism in Alzheimer's Disease
Treatment of Alcoholic Hepatitis
Free Radical Trapping Properties of Curcuminoids
Anti-inflammatory and Anti-Cancer Potentials
Use of Curcuminoids in Cystic Fibrosis
Pharmacokinetics in Normal Healthy Volunteers
Curcuminoids in Pancreatic Cancer
Research Institutions
UCLA School of Medicine
University Hospitals of Cleveland
MD Anderson Cancer Center
Rutgers University
Tufts University School of Medicine
Massachusetts General Hospital
Brown University
Penn State University

* Disclaimer: The activities and institutions listed are not paired in any particular order. Due to ethical reasons endorsements can not be made by these institutions. They are listed merely to show where research is or has been carried out using C3 Complex material.

Again, the significance of all this to consumers is that the same material being used in these studies is the same material Sabinsa offers commercially to supplement manufactures in our Curcumin C3 Complex brand ingredient.

Curcumin C3 Complex is a safe, efficacious and clinically tested material that is certified by NSF International for potency and specification compliance. If you are not sure of the curcumin extract source in your supplement, ask your retailer or manufacturer of the product to specify Curcumin C3 Complex on the label. Consumers can trust the consistency and quality of this patented composition in their dietary supplement formulations.
